Frequently Asked Questions
How important is a hot tub cover?
The cover of a hot tub is vitally important in terms of safety and running costs. We would all agree that heat rises therefore if the cover looses that heat, causing the water temperature to drop then the heating element has to replace the lost heat in the water (this drives up the running cost of the spa). The foam inserts that are placed into our cover skins are very unique, the foam is closed cell created from the injection moulding system used during the manufacturing process ( the water molecule finds it difficult to penetrate closed cell foam). Our covers also have a new mylow wrap to protect the foam even more from water penetration. If the foam in the cover starts to take on water it will stop insulating.
Pictured below is an Arctic Spa in East Lothian a few weeks ago. A small amount of snow has fallen, you can see that no heat is being lost through the cover as the snow shows no sign of melting.

Our covers are the strongest in the industry, originally developed to hold heavy snowfall in Canada without imploding. We typically don’t get that kind of snowfall however if a child or children get on top our cover you the customer can be safe in the knowledge that the cover won’t collapse under the weight. Our covers also come with padlocks to prevent any unwanted guests gaining access to your tub.
